George Clooney’s telethon for Haiti has raised $57 million … and counting, reports PopEater.com.

“The public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti Now,’ and the donations continue to come in,” Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, said in a statement released Saturday evening.

The two-hour telethon aired Friday night commercial free on several major networks, including MTV, Bravo, and PBS, and was also streamed live online. Participants included Madonna, Sting, Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono, Justin Timberlake, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Hudson (who sang an incredible version of “Let It Be”), Beyonce, and a host of other A-List celebs.

That $57 million total doesn’t include donations from corporations or the sales from iTunes, where the Hope for Haiti CD is the biggest one-day pre-order in the site’s history. It’s available for a $7.99 singles from the album are on sale for 99 cents each – and funds go to Help for Haiti. PopEater reports, “The new song ‘Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour)’ by Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono and the Edge, debuted during the telethon, is the No. 1 single on iTunes.”

The money is going to organizations like Oxfam America, UNICEF, and the Clinton-Bush Haiti Foundation, and you can still donate, via text or on the Hope for Haiti Now website.
